You are right, in Japanese is Tazaki either. In english dub they change the name of many characters. You can read that in the fandom wiki.

This episode was a bit refreshing of older Yugioh Sevens characters dueling newer Yugioh Go Rush characters but it's getting a bit old seeing ace monsters with 2500Atk stats and not going any higher than that.
At least in Sevens there was variety with different attack stat monsters as aces and ones going higher than the 2500Atk -__-

Ok, I guess the fact that Tazaki isn't the one from Sevens makes the AU theory more likely. However, as a supporter of the timeskip theory, I think an easy way to explain that the old characters aren't the ones from Sevens could be that simply more time happened between Sevens and Go Rush, so the old characters are descendants of the Sevens ones too just like the young ones.
